Barack Hussein Obama

Barack Hussein Obama was elected the forty-second president of the United States of America. He was inaugurated on Feb. 2, 2009. Not only was Obama the Democratic underdog to break an 8 year Republican reign, he also is the first African American ever to be elected as Commander-in-Chief. Obama and vice president Joe Biden defeated 72 year old veteran John McCain in November of 2008 to win the election.
