Abraham Lincoln - 16th US President

Abraham Lincoln was the Senator of Illinois who grew up in poverty and was elected the 16th President of the United States in the midst of the Civil War. He is famous for his speeches such as the Gettysburg Address and is often credited with the end of the Civil War by passing the Emancipation Proclamation and supporting the 13th Ammendment. He was assasinated by John Wilkes Booth in Ford's Theatre on April 14,1865.
